Transitions
The information gathered here is to help you support your child in the move from Primary school to Post-Primary.
This is a big move and as they also haven't had the same finish to their Primary school year, there may be a little more unsettle and anxiety than normal.
Take a browse through the various links to documents, ideas, resources and videos and use what suits you and your child. I'm sure you will be able to find something that will aid you in chatting about the differences to Primary and Post-Primary school: how the day looks, how classes are organised, things you need; and will also prompt you with things to ask them as to ow they are feeling about this transition and ways to help them cope with any questions or anxiety.
It's an exciting time to be moving on to "big school"! Hopefully as you explore some of these ideas, you will be able to help your child look forward to this natural next step in their life journey!! Enjoy...
