Emotional Literacy with Primary 2!
Here at Ballysillan we know that children don't learn in places they aren't comfortable! This is why we put a huge emphasis on creating a caring and close knit community within our classrooms. One super way to do this is by making cross-curricular links between subjects such as PDMU and Literacy. This week, Primary 2 were exploring the challenges of feeling left out using the story 'A Place For Pluto'! Our little emotional investigators shared their thoughts on how Pluto was feeling at different points in our story, what had caused him to feel these things and what we could do to help Pluto. We then drew real-life connections to these examples by sharing and describing times inside and outside school when we might feel left out and what we can do to help ourselves and others! What a clever bunch of kind and creative kids!
